Edit:

I get Code 28 and next to "other devices" is a "!".

I have tried:
1. Factory Reset
2. Uninstalling and Re-installing Mustang Amp

It works fine on a borrowed computer but I would like to get it to work on my person PC.

Well, I can't get it to work with Ableton either... The problem looks like the ASIO isn't picking up the Mustang. I only see ATI High Def Audio Device and IDT High Def Audio Codec. Why isn't it picking up the Mustang. But if I go to Fuse I have no problem... What's going on?

If you're running Windows 7, I can tell you it's because you haven't enabled the Mustang device as an acceptable audio input yet. You have to do that first before ASIO will read it.

Is that not located in the ASIO panel? I actually just installed it on another computer and it worked fine but I need it to be able to work on my computer. FYI they both were Windows 7. The Mustang 1/2 doesn't show up on my ASIO panel.

"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)"

That's what I'm getting. Unplugging it and putting it back it doesn't help. On a computer I borrowed it says it's functioning fine.

I mean, quite literally, go into the Windows Audio Control Panel (Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Manage Audio Devices), Go into your Recording Devices (Recording Tab), and turn the Mustang ON.

And before you question why, I had to do it and I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with a Realtek audio riser card. (Translation: Just do it.)

Sadly, that didn't work. The Driver will not install and I'm getting a code 28. I read a post and he said that he had to install a windows patch but that didn't work for me. At this point I'm most likely just going to use fuse and when I get a new computer I'll try again. Oh, well.

Ok, well next I'd suggest downloading and installing ASIO4ALL, but I highly doubt that it will solve your problem as you've described it. If it's an actual driver issue, you may want to contact Fender. Their guys know how to troubleshoot these kinds of things better than I can. For me to do it, I'd actually have to sit at the actual computer and I can't do that. (I'm a hands-on kinda person.)

EDIT: Check out this thread: http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=51792

I just found it and it's a number of other forum members who are having the same issue you are. There's a few ideas to try to see if we can't get your drivers working properly.

Yeah, you are right that guy was having a issue exactly like mine. No idea, why that patch didn't work for me. All else I can think of is that when I first got the amp there was an update (firmware?) that came up and I don't think it installed correctly? Was that for the amp itself or the driver? If the Driver how would I convert back to the original firmware? That is the last effort I can think of before ditching the effort.

OK, well I just tried updating the firmware with success but my computer still won't find the driver.

Hopefully someone at Fender will respond to this thread. Thanks for the help.

 Yup, gotta cover all the bases.

To the OP: A Firmware Update done by FUSE only updates the software running inside your Mustang amplifier. And in fact, there's probably a newer firmware update available. We're at 1.9 now. It has nothing to do with the drivers, unfortunately. You weren't able to get a fix for your driver from the other thread?

Fair enough, I did try but to no avail.

Yeah you are right about the firmware, luckily I'm at least updated on that. The thread had a lot of good info. One guy had the same issue I had and he downloaded a patch. When I downloaded that patch it said I already had that installed. I think something on my computer is missing a certain file that I need. Most likely the computer is corrupt or simply doesn't work with my processor. BTW I also tried CCleaner. No problem with the other computer. Unless there is a certain file to download with computers that are not running the driver I think I may be out of luck.

Hi somethingelse11,

I am sorry to hear that you are having some trouble with your amp and ASIO connectivity. Please send along an email to the address below with your Forum name and real name and your system specs. including anti-virus/anti-malware & internet security software along with a list of any other external USB devices you might be using (i.e. audio interfaces, specific wireless devices, etc.). And we can offer you some direct support that way. Thanks very much.

Best Regards,
