I've been using my Mustang II for practise and jamming with some matesbut now I need to run through a mixer to a PA. Has anyone rigged a line out on a Mustang II ? The headphone jack isn't up to the job.

Hey emjaycee,

That's precisely why we made the headphone output speaker emulated. That's the best way to run the Mustang I or II to a PA. Are you referring to the durability of the output or the sound?

Well, not to mention that a non speaker emulated headphone out sounds completely awful through headphones.

How is the headphone out "not up to the job", emjaycee? Is it because it cuts off the speaker? That I can understand.

Yeah, primary reason is it cuts out the speaker, so I can't use it as a monitor. Also have to be careful of the headphone jack being a small one (bit fragile)

True dat. I use a mic on my MII... and my MI when I had one. It's an Audix F2

Have to look around at home, I might have a cheap and nasty mike I could try.

Sometimes nasty old mics can work well for amps but you know, the F2 sells for like $70. I think it sounds hugely better than a 57 - it's fatter and doesn't have that nasty 5k peak that the 57 has.

I mic my M1 with a sennheiser e609. With the 609 I don't need a mic stand. I run the mic cable through the handle, attach the mic, and just let it hang in front of the speaker. Works great.

will try this next week on jam night. We are starting to use a PA with everything going thru a mixer, I might end up just using a effects board then straight into the mixer. Pity I will have to buy the effects board first. ( but even easier to carry )
