Hey guys,
I want to start recording songs, but I have little knowledge about the software.

I can connect my guitar via a Mustang I with Fender Fuse (or at least I can control the amp with the software). What I need would be a software to record the guitar and a software to combine it with other sounds(drumsets, other recorded stuff etc.)

Amazon gives me around a plenty of results, but I have no idea what works good, any good experiences?

I am a poor student, so cheap(-ishy) software would be nice, has to be on windows as well.

Thanks in advance :D

PreSonus just happened to release PreSonus Studio One Free just recently. It is billed as an entry-level version of its DAW intended for beginners. It's main draw back is that you can only use the bundled FX (and some optional FX and loops as separate downloads). VST's and VSTIs may be a little beyond the beginner so that isn't a huge cripple.

I've never used PreSonus myself (I'm happy with REAPER) but, it is supposed to be very good.

Anyway, check it out, it's hard to beat free.
