Hi!

Is there a list of the non-fender amp which are simulated in the Mustangs?
Just saw that American 90 should be similar to a Mesa or something, but where do I see this?

Best Regards,
Madsen

A little over a year ago there was a thread discussing what the non-Fender amps might represent. The consensus was:
  • * American '90s (Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier)
  • * British '60s (Vox AC30)
  • * British '70s (Marshall Plexi)
  • * British '80s (Marshall JCM800)
  • * Metal 2000 (Peavy 5150)
While some may now debate some of those, it's close enough to work with when trying achieve a certain sound.

Wow, I like how you just did a copy and paste of my list from last year.

@ darrennie
I think Fender modeled the specific effect for most of the effects and not a specific brand/model of effect. The overdrive is just a generic one, as is the fuzz. It would have been nice if they modeled, say - BOSS pedal effects, but you know how licensing costs go.

... seems to predate the time you even joined the forum.

Behringer copy's boss, ibanez, and other stompbox pedals and i am not sure if they got sued or not over it but i would recommend the behringer TO800 tube overdrive pedal to use with your mustang,i use it with my mustang V and it just sounds great with the fender amp models,it sounds better then the overdrive in the mustang,i got mine a few years ago for around 30.00,i am not sure if the price went up since then but it is money well spent for a ibanez clone that sounds very close to the original green tube screamer.

Is it possible for you to post an example recorded through the USB?

I use a DS-2 with my M2, and with the right settings it too sound good, in my ears at least

It will not sound the same recording from the USB to computer, you really have to hear it through the mustang amp itself with the behringer overdrive pedal,i run my mustang V through a line 6 spider 4x12 cab and that will sound a lot different then a USB to computer for direct recording.

I am not saying it will not sound good either through the USB to computer. When i get a chance i will try it and see how a direct recording sounds,if i think it sounds good then i will post a sample recording but for me to mic my 4x12 cab and record a sample that way would take longer for me to do,i might get a chance to do it on saturday.

you really cannot go wrong with buying the behringer TO800,also the behringer TO100 sounds good for blues and for tube overdrive tones.
