What I did with my daughter's Mustang I is visit each of the GREEN presets and moved both effect knobs to the right and then back all the way to the left which over-rides the effects and then saved each one. This removes the effects from the preset giving me a clean sound for each amp model...

Don't be afraid to mess with it, it is simple to reset it back to the factory settings...

choose an amp-model what is known for a good clean sound, for example you have the "65 Twin Reverb" on the F-presets. Put Gain to allmost Zero and Volume up. Turn the effects off like Bobio said. Then you should have a real clean sound!

I added this information, because some amp-models cannot be realy clean, especialy not with high output humbucker pickups, f.e. Supersonic or Metall2000 ;)

And this does made perfect sense since:

1) they are model fo a dirty channel
2) the clean channel of this amp is "fender clean based" (if yuo passed the term) and you already have some fender clean based sound

You can get a perfect clean tone if you hold the TAP button while turning on your amp. That would turn on bypass mode, without any sound modulation ;)

wow, old topic. Or use the Princeton model with the GAIN down, VOLUME up and effects off.
