Hi,
I'm in the process of buying the Mustang V head. In live gigs, there is a lot of different configurations that makes the sound different from one place to another. Some places are brighter than other. How do you adjust your sound with this kind of amp if you need more bass, or more mid, or treble. I mean globally, not by patches.
I'm asking this cause last week, I did a gig and a guy came to me during the sound test and told me to add more bass. I'm a Line 6 owner right now. The only way to do this is to go to each presets (hardly configured from a long time adjustment!), add more bass and save the preset.

My question is: what are the options for these situations? Is putting a boss ge-7 eq in the effect loop will fix this? Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks

Unfortunately, these amps do not have a global EQ like the Boss GTs - very handy on those units. The Boss GE-7 in the effects loop should do nicely.

I bet it could be implemented pretty easily in FUSE.

Isn't there a bass knob on top of the amp??? :?

It only changes the bass for the active preset.

All on-amp knobs except the Master volume only affect the currently loaded preset when twiddled.

Maybe it would be a fairly simple - and very useful ! - change to the firmware to enable the knobs to be used independent of the preset currently loaded; in other words to work like a normal amp.

That way, you could tweak the knob settings in a live situation if the sound guy asked you to make a global change to your eq, and it would then apply to all presets when loaded.

I use stereo eq in fx loop. I use a slight v curve to bost bass and treble. it makes a load of difference. I highly recommend it. Any eq would do. Not sure how to run it mono in the stereo fx loop though. It makes amp ask much clearer and bass frequencies really get the amp thumping.

You have a point here. I didn't think of the stereo fx loop :o . What kind of stereo eq are you using?

ls it possible to insert a mono effect in the stereo fx loop? Does it mean that the eq will only affect one side of the cab? Should I split the output with an Y splitter?

Thanks for your help.

Stageworks . It does a nice job. I'm not sure if a mono effect can be put into one input and run on both sides. The directions don't have info on it.Ask Lauren

Hey Guys,

You can use a few Y cables on input and output but you're gonna lose the stereo image. Personally I'd use a stereo EQ.
