Hey Orcatraz,

Hmmm, I never thought of that, buying another guitar to check the tuning! :)

I tried your other recommendations and nothing worked, I could not get a green light on the same two strings. I even tried using all five (5) of the pickup combinations with the same results. I got so frustrated I went out and tried another pickup and you can expect a call from my wife...

Ha ha, I just figured you'd have a friend nearby who also played guitar.

Yeah, just tell her that you're not my first victim. I have lots of friends whose wives blame me for all of their acquisitions!

In all seriousness, I think you may have another bad unit. Did you get the amp locally or online? If there's a Fender dealer nearby, I'd get them to pull one out of a box and let you check it out - tuner, fizz and everything else.

O.

Hey Harry,
Try muting all other strings when you tune - their resonance may be interfering with the tuner. Also turn the volume and tone to max.

It also may be an intonation issue with your guitar. About a year ago I had problems with an old Epi LP that had been untouched for months. It just wouldn't give a green light on any tuner I tried (Mustang III, Vox VT20+) until I had a setup done to the guitar. After the intonation was adjusted properly, there were no more issues.

If you're going to a Fender dealer to check out a different unit - bring your guitar with you to see if that's where the problem is.

Good luck.

Hey guys,

Nothings seems to work so what I've done with those two strings is simply take them off the guitar so I don't have to bother with them anymore. Yes I kid!

I just tune each string until it changes from the left red to the right red and visa-versa and that seems to be close enough for government work.

I sure do want to thank you guys for your suggestions and even though they didn't work I don't want you thinking anything negative about yourself and your total lack of problem solving! :P

You're the best,

Harry
