Hi,
I just purchased a Mustang mini practice amp. I've downloaded the Fender Fuse. When I connect the amp to the computer, the fuse shows "no amp connected". I'm trying to update the software. Also under utilities the firmware update doesn't light up to click on. Another problem is that the "tap" button is flashing and I can't get it to stop. It's flashing green. I reset it back to factory settings but it's still flashing.

Thanks

Hey Cobolt,

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the Fender forums. What OS are you running on your computer? I assume you're using Windows. It sounds like the drivers may not be loading properly. Try this.

With the amp connected and FUSE closed, right-click on My Computer or Computer and select Properties. Then click the Hardware tab and then Device Manager. In Device Manager open up Universal Serial Bus Controllers at the bottom. There you will see a USB Composite Device.

If you see more than one, highlight one and disconnect the amp. If the highlighted Composite Device is still there then you know your amp is the other one. Reconnect the amp.

Right-click on the USB Composite Device for the amp and select uninstall. Then disconnect and reconnect the amp. The drivers should begin to load properly.
Let me know if that works.

Regarding the Tap button, flashing is normal on most presets. It will flash whenever you select a preset that contains a delay or some other Mod effect. It will flash in time with the delay time.

Thanks Loren,
I'm actually running Mac OS lion and I'm new to Mac......lol.
I've reloaded fuse but with the same result. Love the amp but would like to be able to use it with the software. I also have the Hot Rod 40 watt tube amp also.

Woohoo got the software working! Deleted it and downloaded it again. Now it recognizes the mp and downloaded the new firmware. Cool interface! Lots of "stuff" to play with and experiment with.

What do you know? Out of the hundreds of times I assume a PC, it's a Mac. :) Either way I'm glad you got it working.
