I'm trying to do some recordings with MII-usb -> energyXT. I have not spent a lot of time with this combination but manage to record. What about the MIIs' speaker, should it disconnect when using the usb for recording or can I disbale it from somewhere or is it dependent on the used software somehow? I would not need the speaker when recording if I can monitor otherwise.

No, the USB out does not mute the internal speaker. You can use it as a monitoring speaker while you're recording that way. The other option is to turn the Master Volume to 0, which will kill the sound comming from your speaker but does not affect the USB output.

USB gain under advanced amp in fuse can be used to increase the volume of the recording.
