Yeah, but those kinds of ideas, while good, would require a redesign of the amp itself to accomodate those things, so we're not going to be able to see those.

Don't know if it would as the 4 button sends digital signals to the amp to do the switching. A firmware upgrade perhaps.

Maybe howard can tell us if a all in one foot controller would work or not?

I do not see the USB port a problem on the mustang if you use an USB extension cable with it,you can loop the cable through the amp's handle or tape it down to the top of the amp, problem solved!

I have a problem with my 4 button footswitch locking up after it has been on for a while. I have a Mustang iii amp and an EXP-1 expression pedal. I did not have a problem with 4 button footswitch locking up until I started using the EXP-1. I checked with Fender, they said it was likely the EXP-1. So I got another EXP-1. But I still have the same problem! I have the latest firmware version. Yes it is plugged into the 4 button jack in the back of the amp and I followed the instructions on the bottom of the EXP-1 to make sure the cables are connected properly. I am using the brand new factory cables that came with the 4 button footswitch and the EXP-1 expression pedal. What else should I do? :?

Do you have a spare small instrument cable? Try replacing the Fender supplied cable between the MS-4 and the EXP-1 with the small spare cable. If the problem repeats, take the Fender supplied cable you replaced with the small cable and swap it with the cable going from the MS-4 to the amp.
