Hello,

I just purchased a Mustang I. It arrives next week. I have been reading where other Mustang I owners say that it is a great amp for bedroom volume only. Something I was thinking about doing for gigs, would be to use the headphone jack out to the effects loop return of my 150watt head, to my 212 cab.

Wondering if any Mustang I owners have tried this and how it sounded.

Mustang1 = bedroom volume is bullshit. Unless your bedroom hasn't 300 square-meters ;)

Anyway, the Headphones-Out of the Mustang works perfect for feeding another amp's Line-IN. It makes sense for the batterie-powered Mini-Mustangs which are realy to weak for a gig. I often connected my Mini to a Hugh&Kettner Amp and got a nice sound from its 12" Celestion Speaker.

My Mustang 1 will keep up with much bigger amps at Jam sessions .In a large studio room at very loud ,its only on half volume.The great thing about the Mustang I is it will also play and keep some decent tones at very low volumes so phones arent needed for a practice noodling .The 1 always reminds me of my heavily upgraded Champ 600 ,when its on Champ settings via Fuse.I suppose the eight inch speaker adds to that certain sound.great little amp.

Speaking of the 8" speaker, I was also considering taking out the 8" speaker and putting in a 10" speaker. Has anyone done this with good results, or is it the 8" speaker that makes the Mustang I sound so good?
After reading some of the comments here, I'm beginning to think it would be better to keep the 8" speaker in it, and either mic it or run it to a bigger cab and amp for gigs.

What are some of the thoughts on this?
