Hi,

I have another idea for Firmware 2.0 for Mustang III/IV/V.

The actual function of the footswitches is:

- When you use the 2-Button Footswitch, you can use it for accessing 2 Quick Presets. (Quick Preset 1 and 2)
- When you use the 4 Button Footswitch, you can use it for accessing 3 Quick Presets. (Quick Preset 1, 2 and 3)

So here my idea:

- When you use both footswitches, why can't there be a Quick Preset 4 and 5? With the 4 Button Footswitch you access Quick Preset 1, 2 and 3 and with the 2 Button Footswitch 4 and 5.

Another idea:

- You can define two or more sets of Quick Presets. When you use both footswitches, with the 2-Button you dial the "set" and with the 4-Button you chose 1 to 3 from the selected set.

Thank you for reading

The only thing I'd ad is a Tap/Reverb option for the 2-button switch (I use both the 2 & 4 button foot switches on a v head).

I'd vote for the Tap/Reverb option on the 2-button switch since neither is on the 4-button one.

These are great ideas; I can see it now, the 2-button foot switch options would then be:

Down/Up
Bank **** New: cycle through 2 or more banks of 3 {QA1-1/QA2-1/QA3-1, QA1-2/QA2-2/QA3-2, ...}
QA1-1/QA2-1
QA4-1/QA5-1 **** New
Stomp/Mod
Stomp/Delay
Stomp/Reverb
Stomp/Tap
Tap/Reverb **** New

This would add quite a bit of flexibility and the interface wouldn't need a lot of rework at all!

FANTASTIC IDEAS  I am looking forward to the new firmware 2.0

Then Mustang = most powerful and versatile amplifiers in its price range.
Kicking $@! for other brands of amplifiers.

Best Regards from Spain.

Hi, great Idea with the Tap/Reverb....

but the mode of the 2-Button should be affected by the chosen mode of the 4-Button:

When you chose QA at the 4-Button, on the 2-Button should be QA 4 and 5 or bank.
When you chose Stomp-Mode at the 4-Button, the 2-Button should be Rev/Tap.
The 2-Button should be treated as additional 2 Buttons of the 4-Button so that we have a 6-Button....not as stand-alone.

So here is the list from PITA for the 2-Button again with my changes:

For those who only own the 2-Button:
- Down/Up
- QA1-1/QA2-1
- Stomp/Mod
- Stomp/Delay
- Stomp/Reverb
- Stomp/Tap
For those who own also the 4-Button:
- 4-Button-Mode-Depending 1 **** New: When stomp on 4-Button, then Tap/Reverb; when QA on 4-Button, then QA4/QA5, when Down/Up on 4-Button, then ???
- 4-Button-Mode-Depending 2 **** New: When stomp on 4-Button, then Tap/Reverb, when QA on 4-Button, then Bank (cycle through 2 or more banks of 3 {QA1-1/QA2-1/QA3-1, QA1-2/QA2-2/QA3-2, ...}), when Down/Up on 4-Button, then ???

If only one 4-Button-Mode-Depending is possible, I would prefer number 1.

The ??? is to be discussed. I would say that Stomp/Mod would be good for this. Another suggestion would be "nothing".

You know, I woke up this morning with the same idea, and find you beat me to posting it! Like!

I think the two "coordinated" modes would work really well.

For your "???", how about left button dedicated bank down, right button dedicated bank up? (This would avoid the confusion resulting from the 4-button bank changing direction silently and give reliable directional bank controls.)

Yeah...both the same idea...

Your idea for the use of the ??? is good...if somebody needs it, it ist okay. But when I have a QA-4 and QA-5 or better several banks of QA-1 to QA-3, I won't need anything on the 2-Button in "Channel Mode". I won't use the "Channel Mode" any more. I would only use the QA-Mode and the Stomp-Mode... :-)

Yes, Yes! A little thought by the programming team would make the two boxes work together much more effectively... or perhaps even allow two of the 4 button switches to be used together instead of a 4 and a 2?

Perhaps even create a combined 8 button board with exp pedal incuded all connected with a single double lead cable? Then the fun could really begin! The programming can't be that hard to develop.

Don't know if it's possible, but I would really like to be able start and stop Band tracks with a foot switch. Maybe a choice on the 2 button switch.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your input and ideas. I will definitely pass them along as feature requests, update ideas, etc. Sorry I cannot comment or make any statements beyond that. But your ideas will be passed along. Thanks again.

+1

This would cut down on my tap dancing greatly :)
