Could someone post a link to the manual for how the various effects work and what the knobs do? Thanks,

John

That's the sort of thing I'm looking for but where's the FENDER documentation that explains what the various knobs do on the effects. There's a lot of pedals you can select, there's a lot of knobs, sometimes the function of the knob is obvious, sometimes not so much. It would be helpful to be able to get a bit of specific information about EVERY effect and what the knobs they have do.

I know this has been discussed before and I think I remember someone at Fender trying to give a brief summary of the pedal knobs. Did this ever get completed? How long could it take for someone at fender to write a one page discription of each effect?

Full manual equals time and money - not going to happen.

I have raised this here before and have been told by other posters that I am being unfair to Fender, but even so, new buyers still keep asking where the 'real' manual is !

To the best of my knowledge, there is none. Whatever there is is in the in-app help system, and that's sparse. I also found this frustrating and unsatisfactory.

What particular knobs on which "pedal" are you not understanding? If I can I'll try to explain them... if I can.

I too was very frustrated as an e-guitar newbie when there were no clear definitions as to what each effect does- I found that the cybertwin manuals give some degree of explanation as to the effects. Obviously the mustang effects were developed from the models developed for the cybertwin-(why re-invent the digital wheel?).
It doesn't map across perfectly but you will get some idea if you take the two manuals in conjunction

That's exactly the type of information that I'm looking for but for the Mustang specific effects. (Actually I could suggest a few improvements.) The detailed specs that the second link has plus the effect description and knob description + tips from the first are what is needed. And since Fender already has these documents it wouldn't take much to cut and paiste the information and make changes where they are needed. It's lame that this isn't available for the mustang amps. Obviously someone at Fender knows what kind of documentation is needed for an amp. Why don't they just do it for Mustangs?

I think you just have to accept that isn't going to happen and make do with what is currently available. The principles (physics) behind each effect dont change so if you are that way minded you can map the descriptions from the cybertwin to the mustang- or you can just play around to see what suits your tone.
Personally I think there are too many dials/parameters on each effect for someone who is new to this area.

I'm hoping that someone at Fender might read this. Check out what they've done in the past. See that this would obviously be of some help to some of their "valued" customers. Realize that, with a bit of cut and paiste from their own documents it wouldn't be much work to give a basic description of the effects, what the knobs do, and what the specs are. The cyber twin manual show clearly what is needed. The only modification I would request is that some places they just specify the knobs control 1-10 instead of saying what frequencies the 1-10 correspond to. It's more helpful to specify the frequency, like they do in other places. Why Fender, is this documentation unavailable?

Hey All,

There does seem to be some confusion regarding the different FX parameters. I'm sure a more in depth guide to FX would be helpful. Perhaps even a brief paragraph for each FX type. I'll look into it. Standby.

That really would be a step forward, Loren - I think it's the first time anyone from Fender has even acknowledged it as an issue on this forum.

Given the price and nature of these amps, the I and II especially are often going to be a first amp for many people. A basic description of what each effect does, and a basic description of the adjustable parameters for each of those effects, would answer a lot of the questions that keep cropping up here, especially from new buyers. As others here have said, probably mostly a cut and paste job with some Mustang specific additions where needed.

Ironically, as the amps get ever more complicated, the manuals get thinner !

Thanks, that would be great.

I would suggest a brief description for each effect like you have in the cybertwin manual.
Page 40 has a descripion of a Tremolo, something like that for each effect would be great.

http://support.fender.com/manuals/guita ... manual.pdf

Also, a summary table like at page 33 the end of the cybertwin manual would also be helpful. The only improvement that I would suggest is that you always use the actual parameters that are being controled in the table. That is, if you're controlling a frequency range, list the min and max frequencies that the knob controls not just 1-10.
