The way the 4-switch footswitch operates in Mode 2 for switching banks is a bit bizzare.

Now, whether the bank switch switches to the next higher bank or the next lower bank depends on whether the last incremental switch was an up or a down incremental. So if my last incremental switch was up, but I'd like to bank down, I have to increment down first, then hit the bank switch. This stinks. Having to go thru an extra preset to get to the target preset sounds lousy.

It would be better if the bank switch just changed the operation of the up/down switches from incremental to bank, so that first you'd hit the bank switch, then you could hit either the up or down switch to bank either up or down. Hitting the bank switch again would change the up/down switches back to incremental operation.

It would also greatly improve the switch operation if banking incremented in banks of 5 instead of banks of 10.

Or better yet, given the first suggestion, if the Util setting could allow you to select whether the banking switched in banks of 10, 5 OR would jump up or down 2 presets at a time would REALLY improve the useabilty.

Think of it this way:
If Presets were setup in groups of 5 and the bank switch jumped up or down 2 presets at a time then a repeated preset pattern of:

Clean, Blues, Rythm, Lead 1, Lead 2, Clean, Blues, Rythm, Lead 1, Lead 2,Clean, Blues, Rythm, Lead 1, Lead 2

means that you can get from any preset type to any other type without having to go thru another preset.

I'd be happy if I could just set up more specific presets instead of just accessing banks. To me that would be far more helpful, I wouldn't have to punch around with my foot going up or down trying to find a preset. I would rather just assign a preset and go with it.

It would be nice to have something like a midi-buddy or more 'Quick Access' buttons, but that's not feasible. It would require a complete hardware redesign.

My suggestions would only require some programming changes.

I would perfectly happy if it could work like this :

the two button fs can access bank up/ bank down, and the four button fs could access presets within that bank ( 1,2.3). That way I could set up a max of three tones per song, and order them according to the setlist, use the 2 button to get to the specific bank and the four button to get to the presets.

as it stands right now, i can use the two button to do bank up/down, but the four button doesn't help to navigate the banks.

I love this amp, and in kind I love Fender, but I really have to sit back and scratch my head sometimes when I look at how this amp is set up for foot control.
