Hi,

I have a Mustang 3 and am thinking of adding a Mustang 4. Two questions:

I have all my presets saved in my computer. What steps will I need to take when adding them to the new Mustang amp.

Also...does the 4 have a line out? That is the one thing that I do not like about the 3.

To get your presets onto your new MIV, I would think it is just a matter of using the backup/restore utility in Fuse.

I have an MIII, and I have used the effects send or the headphone jack as a "line" out, depending on the application at the time. I believe that the MIV has a stereo effects loop, but no dedicated line out feature.

The III does have a line out (sort-of). Use the FX SEND to the board. Works great.

That is indeed the best way to get presets from the III onto the IV. Also the FX loop will function perfectly as a line out.

Loren...can I use the FX loop as a line out to a wireless monitor system? I thought I tried it and it did not work.

Also--the restore did not work for me. I had to add each preset individually.

Hey laywrite,

Did you get an error message when you tried the restore? Exactly what happened?

It should be able to go out to a wireless system. The FX send doesn't mute the speaker though. Something to consider.

It only restored the 00 preset. All the other presets remained factory setting presets. Doesn't matter now, as I replaced them all one by one.

I'll try the FX send into the wireless monitor system. I do not want it to cut out the speaker, so that's good.

That's strange. Do you know if you have the same version of firmware on both amps?
