Hi Folks.

I'm hoping to be getting a Mustang in the next few weeks but I was wondering something.

I've seen a few on the Bay of E and lets face it who doesn't want to save a pound or two ;) But then something crossed my mind.

Will there be any problem getting the Fuse Software or using any of the online stuff if you are using an amp already down on the system as being used by someone else??

If that makes sense.

Many thanks to anyone that knows.

Hey Johnston,

You shouldn't have a problem. The FUSE software is free and doesn't require authorization of any kind. If you run into any issues just contact us and we'll get it cleared up.

Another thing to consider is that Fender's 5 year warranty is transferrable. Insist on the original sales receipt if you buy a used amp

From
http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... nformation

5-Year Transferrable Warranty
To take advantage of the 5-year transferable warranty, the original purchaser must endorse the sale of the product to the new owner on the original sales receipt. The duration of the transferred warranty will be the balance of time remaining up to five years from the original date of purchase of the product.

What about if you are buying it used from a store? The sales guy was trying to sell me a warranty with the one I just purchased that I'm supposed to pickup on 4-9-12. He wanted about $15. The amp only cost $70, and it looks mint with new tags and all. Is this typical GC Bull? I declined to get the warranty, but I figure it still might be under warranty.

The Fender warranty should be transferable regardless of where you buy it from.

GC is trying to sell you their extended warranty. Which goes above and beyond the Fender warranty. Fender will basically cover manufacturer's defects but not stuff like if the amp falls off a stage or sombody spills beer on it. With the GC warranty if you so much as scratch the tolex, they'll fix or repalce it. It's probably overkill for an MI that cost you $70 bucks and will never leave the bedroom. But worth the peace of mind for a MIII & up I think.

Nice to see you guys mentioning warranties.

Might as well ask this.

I got mine. from ebay supposedly good nick but wasn't. And came wrapped in cling film !!!!!

More worrying is the rear panel looks like it's been off.

I would assume this is instant warranty busted?

Mustang 1 BTW

I think it's near impossible to get the back off these amps without it being apparent that it has been done, and once that happens the warranty is void.

Thats what I thought. So why would someone have taken it off when theamp is under warranty?

Anyone know what the speaker should be inthese. Before I agree to keep it ifEbay say it's okay I want to pull the back off my selfand see if it's been swapped.

Curiosity ? To attempt home repairs ? To change the speaker ? To try and install a hook up for an external cabinet ?

Could be any number of reasons. Because the Mustang I is so well priced, some have no problem seeing it as a base for modding, even under warranty.

Maybe someone else will chip in on the stock speaker - I don't have a Mustang I.

I think its referred to as a Fender 'special' speaker, but not sure what that really means.

Hey Guys,

We designed the speaker for use specifically with the Mustang I. It's not a speaker you can get off the shelf.
