This is a bit strange, but I thought that the guys at Fender could help figure this out:

When I use the USB cable that came with my Mustang III, it connects to Fuse O.K. When I use the same cable to connect my Fishman Aura pedal, it works O.K. also.

But when I try to use a cable that I purchased at Radio Shack, neither connects. The connector types are exactly the same (Gigaware USB-A Male to Mini USB-B Male). I've tried exchanging the cable for a new one, but that didn't work either.

I can't find any info indicating different USB standards that use these same connectors.

Does anyone at Fender have any idea why these cables wouldn't work?

Have you tried to use that R/S cable on a hard drive or a USB connected cell phone?

This just keeps getting weirder:

I bought a USB 2.0 compliant cable from Sam Ash today (Hosa). It will not work with the Mustang III, BUT it does work with the Fishman Aura pedal.

There's gotta be something weird about the Mustang III USB interface...what USB standard is it? Fender should have listed it in the manual.

Oh well, as long as I have both the Mustang abd the Fishman working, I'm happy...

But it is a curiosity....

Thanks, but my cell phone has a different type of connector.

I'd go back to Radio Shack and see if they can make the cable work on a hard drive.

Very strange indeed, Richard. I can't say I've seen anything like that happen before.
