Hi
im having some issues with my mustang iii, the screen is not showing up with the usual presets, instead it is showing some letters and numbers, as well as the model, version and date, the buttons (amp, stomp, exit, save etc) are also lighting on and off individually, and the guitar is playing completly clean and i can only adjust the master volume, does anyone know how to fix this problem?
I've only had the amp a few weeks and it was playing fine earlier, i just switched it on and now its like this and i can't figure out how to fix it and haven't found any answers in the user manual or on he internet.
Thank you :)

hmmm, never mind, it seems to be working now :D

That is the Mustang 3 (and 4 and 5) SELF-TEST/DEBUG mode. It is done by powering on the amp while holding the "TAP/TUNER" button. Just turn the amp off and back on. While the amp is in DEBUG mode, you can turn any dial and watch all the values for that dial change. My dials all go through 0000 (off) to FFF0 (full on). You can also push buttons to see if they all work right.

I spoke with someone not long ago with the same problem. Turns out the Tap/Tuner button was stuck.

ditto.
i got this amp to play some gigs with and have been really happy with it until last friday night. i got to the gig i turned the amp on and the screen was scrolling through program parameters or something and the buttons were flashing sequentially. it was about 5 minutes till our first set. it scared the heck out of me. complete panic mode. i turned the amp on and off several times and finally good old 00 liquid solo came up on the screen. i dont carry a backup amp and didnt have my manual with me so i thought i was screwed. luckily after turning the power off and on about 5 or 6 times normal operation resumed. perhaps the tap/tuner button was stuck but i dont think it was. i dont know for sure but it didnt seem to be stuck. i pushed all the buttons and turned the amp on and off several times and it finally worked. i just read through the manual again and see that i can hold the exit button while starting up the amp to restore factory defaults. would this work if the amp does this again? is this a common occurence?
our other guitarist thinks i should get a tube amp and a pedal board and be done with it but i like to have all these features in one amp so i dont have to lug a bunch of gear around. i like to just plug in and play. but i am afraid now that this may happen again.

Your other guitarist suffers from tube-berculosis. Symptoms include narrow-mindedness, inability to see beyond one's nose, and acute snobbery. Ignore him.
