Not in the instrument jack, but there's a few things on the back and I'm wondering if I can plug a mic into one of them

You can use the aux in but with the appropriate adaptors. You'll need a pre-amp of some sort to up the mic level too.Good luck!!

You could, but you'd kill any guitar sound by doing it. The FX Send/Return is a pass-through of the guitar's sound channel. It comes after the pre-amp and EQ, but before the Power-Amp stage. Plugging something into the FX Return jack would completely bypass the Guitar input and the EQ and Pre-amp. The Mustang would just use the Power-Amp stage to drive the speaker, hence your need for some kind of pre-amp for the microphone first.

If you want to use guitar and a mic at the same time you'd probably have to plug the mic into the aux in.

If you just want to monitor or record vocals while adding some effects to them, I've had some success doing so with my Mustang III...

You could go mic directly into guitar input, but my cheap mic has a very weak signal. So I put a pre amp between the mic and the Mustang. Set up a clean setting, add a little reverb, a dash of echo (or whatever you like), works like a charm.
