New to the MIII but adding my support here for both ideas above - an acoustic emulator mod (for electrics) and an amp model for really playing acoustics, something along the lines of a Fishman Loudbox. No (pre-amp) gain whatsoever so there's no breakup. I'm getting back into guitar after a couple decades away and am planning to add a nylon thinline A/E and a Taylor-ish steel string A/E to my collection in coming months - wow would it be nice to use one amp. :)

Hi Grateful Ned,

Thanks for your feedback. We can't promise to add any specific features to our future Fender Mustang devices, but we will happily pass on your request to our engineers. Please let us know if we can assist you further.

Cheers,

+1 please. I'm sure it can be done in a firmware upgrade...

Hi, and sorry, paulneeds59; it´s not going to happen. Have you seen the date of the post right before yours? It´s been years, my friend. No aco sim for fuse/mustang.

Regardless, I still think it´s a good amp.

Cheers,

Sabas.

PD: If you haven´t noticed it, I´m the author of this thread. :?

Time to re-invigourate this post I think.

I guess Fender knows it is or at least seems important.

I was playing a coffee shop a couple of months back, plugged my acoustic in direct and...nothing. Couldn't figure out why because all our other instruments were coming through fine, and the acoustic has a built in preamp (with fresh battery).

I ended up running it through my Mustang III (which was going direct in via XLR) and using the studio preamp preset. Sounded pretty good

Why did you not just use the JCM800 preset?

One reason I bought Fender Passport Mini (cousin of Mustang Mini but aimed at mini PA and acoustic buskers) was the bank of various acoustic guitar presets. I was most disappointed as the output was anemic to say the least. Can the folks at Fender come out with upgrade to presets so volume output at least in ballpark of the electric presets? I hate having to use compressor just to get passable volume. I have used external EQ just as booster, but seems Fender should be able to remedy this problem without too much hassle. I use acoustic electric with built in EQ/preamp, and delivers same or more volume as when I plug in electric on twin reverb setting. So input signal is plenty strong, but output is so weak on those dread, jumbo etc settings
