For the Mustang amp to be perfect (at least for me), it only needs an acoustic guitar simulator, so we can play our regular electric and get acoustic-like sounds.

So, do you think Fender will make one available? I haven´t found any...

Thanks!

Sabas.

When I was trying to figure out what amp to buy I thought I wanted a Roland micro cube. Saw some youtube videos. The store didn't have it where I bought my strat - but they had the Mustang 1.

Anwyay - when I heard the acoustic setting on the cube I thought it sounded cheesy. Now when I pick up my acoustic, I actually say to myself "now that's tone." Hopefully one day I'll get there with the electric.

No, but if you really want a good acoustic sound from an electric guitar, let me point you to the BOSS AC-3 Acoustic Simulator. VERY nice pedal. I have it and it turns my Stratocaster into a full-bodied acoustic guitar. I use the Twin Reverb amp model when I do that and it's sweet.

The Boss AC3 pedal is certainly convenient for the electric player who wants a burst of acoustic without swapping guitars, and when carefully set is probably as good as you are going to get with an emulator, especially in a band context where its not heard 'naked'. However (based on personal experience) "full bodied acoustic guitar" may be overstating it a bit.

Thanks for the comments. Yesterday I found two presets, but haven´t tried them yet, hope to do it tonight at home, and we´ll see how they go. Don´t remember their names exactly, something like "beauty clean" and "12 string clean".

cheers,

Sabas.

Just to note that the presets labelled acoustic or similar in the Fuse library aren't really meant to be acoustic 'emulators' to use with an electric guitar; they are designed to try and get the best tone from the Mustang amps when used with an acoustic guitar.

They are mostly based on a clean amp model, usually the Twin Reverb, with gain pretty much off, volume and eq tweaked and maybe some gentle reverb to try and get the best from an acoustic guitar.

An acoustic emulator used with an electric guitar, like the Boss AC3 pedal, is a different beast, although it may use some of the same tonal tricks to massage the electric guitar sound to have more 'acoustic' properties, including 'body'.

Just remember. Most all demo's of the Boss AC-3 are with the electric guitar through an acoustic amp or PA. Then they switch back to an electric guitar amp. So they use two amps in the demo's. I had one and I used an acoustic amp; that made it sound real.

So, what if I tried tro plug a Boss AC-3 into an electric guitar, and then plug the pedal + guitar into the Fender Mustang I? Could I get an acoustic guitar tone this way, or would it sound like crap?

I'm thinking of getting this pedal someday, for it takes much less space than a "flesh and bones" acoustic guitar. Plus, I use lots of tunings both on acoustic and electric guitar, and it is much easier to switch between electric guitars with different tunings than getting an acoustic guitar for each different tuning that I am using. Moreover, setting up an electric guitar is much easier than setting up an acoustic one. For me... :D

So, what do you guys say?

I would buy a used boss GT-3 if you can still find one and use the cosm modeled acoustic guitar emulator and it also has acoustic guitar presets for your acoustic/electric guitars with piezo pickups.

I have one that i bought new back in 1999 and it still functions like it is new plus it has many effects and cosm amp models, the GT-3 does not suck tone when you engage the effects and even by todays standards it is loaded with many useful features.

I do not play much acoustic guitar now or simulated acoustic tones from my electric guitars but when i did years ago i remember getting very good acoustic guitar tones from my GT-3's acoustic emulator.

Hi, 'Fender Staff' !

I guess it is good to hear that you will pass these comments on, but you should be aware that the inclusion of an acoustic emulator and/or acoustic amp model on the Mustangs has been requested here many, many, many times over the last 12 months, with no sign of any action or response by Fender.

Hi depepat,

Firstly, this is Alan here. We are just updating our Tech Support Lab signature. In response to your reply here, I hear what you are saying. And when we say that the comments will be passed along, we do mean that. And we are keeping an eye on individual comments as well as repeated requests. And the Technology Support Lab works directly with our engineers and related staff here at Fender. So while I cannot guarantee that feature requests and ideas, feedback etc. will be added to a specific product, we definitely do present the ideas put forth on our Forums to the appropriate folks here at Fender.

Further, we very much appreciate all the feedback. Please let us know if you have any additional ideas or if we can assist with anything.

Best Regards,

Hi Fender TSL (Alan)

Hope it´ll turn out positive, and we can have a software update anytime soon offering an acoustic-like preset.
For now THANK YOU VERY MUCH for taking note on this...

Best regards,

Sabas
