I just bought my Mustang I yesterday.
I'm really happy, awesome amp. \o/

Fender is just Fender. Well made products, good support etc.

However, i know that Mustangs are based in simulations.
So, i'm afraid to buy a pedal and it doesn't work that way.

I know that Fender Fuse is awesome. Yeah, it does.
But i'd like to buy a Big Muff Pi pedal and Digitech Band Monkey Overdrive.

If i try i can have a good overdrive in Mustang, but with pedal is better cause is easy to control.

However, Big Muff Pi is Big Muff Pi. I love its sound.
I want to buy it, but... i dont know hot it's gonna be with Mustang.

Does it sound good?
Or not?
More or less??

Please, people who have tested any pedal with Fender Mustangs, help me!
I wanna know your experience!

Thank you! :D

I would suggest that pedals can play a useful role with these modelling amps mainly where the amps' own inbuilt effects don't hit the spot.

With my Mustang 3, I sometimes use a Modtone overdrive pedal, because it seems to me to be a little 'sweeter' than the built in Overdrives, and also a TC Electronics Corona Chorus pedal because the built in chorus effects are in my view among the weakest on the amp. The Corona in particular sounds beautiful with a clean amp model.

I tried using pedals with my MI, just for kicks...it didn't work very well. I suppose if you really tweak things, it might work, but I felt I got better results just using the modelling.

Modulation effects should work OK, but go easy on the overdrive.

It's fine to get a crunchy tone, but you don't want to overload the A/D converter with a very hot output level...it just doesn't react the same way as a 12AX7, if you know what I mean...
