I'm currently looking to buy an amp as I've recently started playing.

Was initially looking for the Vox Mini3, but it seems that the Mustang is better.

I'll use the amp to practice indoors, not to do shows/play in a band. Are they essentially the same? Do they all have the same presets and features? Should I get the Mini since it's smaller and newer?

I don't really plan on using it on batteries, but who knows, this can be an interesting feature!

Thank you!

I would go with the Mustang I if you don't think you will be using the batteries. Why pay more for less of an amp with a feature you won't be using ;)

I had a Mustang I before I moved up to a Mustang III. It wasn't any issue with the Mustang I, just wanted a larger amp. My daughter still has the Mustang I and she loves it. It is a great little amp, definitely worth the money...

Here is an old image of my Mustang I in my little music corner :)

I have both, the Mini and the I and find they have definitly different sounds. If you don't care about the batterie option take the I! Sounds much fuller and can be (if you want) much louder. With the Mini the bass-poti has nearly no effect, there just is no bass. You can make some nice sounding presets for the tiny one, but you can not expect that the presets which ar fine for the I or II sound the same on the Mini.
Compared to the little Vox the Mustang Mini sure is the better choice, you are right. But the sound of the I plays one or two classes higher than both of them. Yeah, and for the same price.

I sold a Roland Micro Cube and got the Mustang 1. Its far better than the Roland and much louder. I got $60 for the Roland and I added $40 to get the M1. It was the best $40 I ever spent.

Yay! Bought the M1 yesterday.

The Mini3 was also in demo so I got to play around with it... it really seems in another league. Everything felt cheap on it.

I'm all new to the amps and guitar world so it's time to learn :D

I am buying the Mustang Mini next week, I would go for the Mustang I, but due to it's size, I will buy the Mini so my sister can bring it from Ireland to Brazil.

I just don't get why Fender site says the Mini is a digital amp and the Mustang I is a solid state.

Both amps are actually digital. We'll make sure to correct the typo.
