I see that the Super Champ X2 has 16 amp models that include Tweed, Blackface and Hot Rod. I wonder if these will be added to the Mustangs via firmware?

Good question!

But I have a feeling we wont get to see those models on our Mustangs. Because if you look at the different amps that use FUSE (G-DEC, Mustang, Bronco, SCX2), they all have various numbers of models with different names. And they are all exclusive to their respective amp. And further, if you try to download - say a G-Dec preset, you'll notice it has a different file extension then your Mustang presets.

I'm not sure why Fender designed them like that. You'd think it would make things easier if they are all using the same technology, to keep them all uniform. I've got just about every tone I would ever want or need in my MIII, but man, that would be pretty cool to see some new amp models.

Hey Guys,

The amp models will remain exclusive to their respective amps. This was done to ensure that when you buy a Mustang, you're actually getting a unique amp and not just a G-DEC without an SD card slot and phrase sampler. We could have all of the amps use the same models but wheres the variety in that?

Or indeed the product differentiation (aka "variety") and the prospect of selling someone more than one amp !

I wonder if a 'pay-per-amp' model would work? I know I'd be interested in adding models.

That's a actually a very smart idea, but sadly I suspect that the "pay per amp" model that Fender has in mind works a little differently and involves a lot more "pay" per amp !

I think a pay-per-amp model is a no brainer for the smaller Mustangs. We've paid very little, per amp, already. We have 11 models, so that's less than ten bucks an amp for the Mustang 1 if you think about it in those terms. I would love additional "ala carte" models, especially if they were in the 15-20 buck range. The scheme doesn't scale to the bigger models though.

Meh, the Mustangs have all the bases pretty much covered don't they?

I'm finding it very hard to find ANYTHING to complain about with my Mustang 1. I would have gone with a bigger one but heard a lot of horror stories. This little bear is great.

Only thing I wish it had, a direct out.
