So, I have a Mustang I, no it doesn't have issues, but.. As I asked here and I sent a email to Fender. Asking if the fizz had been fixed because I was thinking about a larger model. Well after 3 days and no response from Fender.. THEY LOST A CUSTOMER.

I called Peavey yesterday, yes they are well aware of the Mustangs issues, and told me the Vypyr does not have thoses issues, they looked up some Peavey dealers near me and confermed if the dealers had them in stock so I wouldn't waste my time. How bout that?

We also talked about bigger amps, it's time to upgrade, very helpful, asking questions like..

What kind of music do I play?

How often do I play out?

what size venues do I play?

All because they wanted to find the perfect fit.

FMIC...

Leo is most definately rolling over in his grave over how you have turned his old company into what it is.

from now on.. I will Buy a G&L guitar.

And so far Peavey kicked your butt in cust service.

This is what I get after a 40 year love affair with Fender.. Ya'll suck.

Lookin for another amp because you don't want the hassle of a potentially fizzful M3 I can understand, but I can't understand doing it because customer support didn't reply in 3 days, and particularly with a question of that sort.

I've read about reliability problems with the Vypyrs, BTW, but maybe that changed. Anyway, I hope it works out for you.

Botton line..

I speak with my wallet.

I am not happy, I will explain why..

Then take my money elsewhere.

sorry you don't understand that, maybe that's why the "fizz" won't get fixed. Everyone complains.. No one takes action.

I commend you for taking a stand on your priniciples. And I wish you good luck with your Vypyr.

And your stratagy is a good one. If more people follow suit, Fender will react.

But here's why I think Fender is not worried:

Because when you compare the Mustang with the Vyper, Vox VT, Cubes, etc,... you step back and take an objective look at each one of them... and you make a list of all the pros and cons for each one... the Mustang, despite whatever fault, complaint, or outright defect that you can find with it, is still a strong competitor. Fender knows this, and the average Joe Blow guitar player looking for a DSP modeling amp knows this. People want the best tone and the best playing experience (and are willing to put their priniciples, if they are a factor, aside to get it). When it comes down to it, each one of those amps reputation will stand or fail on its own.

Not trying to argue for right or wrong. Just giving my layman's analysis.

Actually, Fender did fix the fizz, in a manner of speaking.

They changed their standards to make the fizz an acceptable part of the amp. At that very instant, all fizzing Mustangs were no longer defective. Like magic.

The lawyers solved the problem that the engineers couldn't.

I'm not sure there is anything to fix. Apparently you can't hear the fizz when you play music.

This is a Fender Forum, so I won't say much, other than to give a thumbsup to G&L guitars...got two and love them!

I own a Mustang II, a Mustang V half-stack and a Peavey Vypyr 75.

I don't play the Vypyr anymore. It's not nearly as user friendly as the Mustangs and it tends to shriek a lot more - great if you're into Heavy Metal, but I'm not.

Have fun.

Spent most the day out playing Vypyrs. All I have to say is.

Send me your Vypyr 75 and save me the trouble of buying one.

I have the mustang I and V also the vypyr 15 and 30,here is my honest opinion of these amps, first the mustang I vs vypyr 15.

The MI has better overall clean tones compared to the vypyr 15 but the vypyr has better high gain amp models and is much louder then the MI,the vypyr also has better effects and responds better to the dynamics and volume changes from your guitar.

The mustang V vs the vypyr 30,this is not really a fair comparison but i will still give you my opinion.

I did modify my vypyr 30 with a version of the beam blocker i made from a blank cd and also put a backboard on the rear of it to enhance the low end and it does work and sounds better now then it did before the modification.

I run the MV through my line 6 spider 4x12 cab and it sounds very good through it and when the mustang V is set at louder volumes around 4 or 5 it sounds nice and warm on many of the clean amp models and also sounds good with my behringer TO800 overdrive pedal for some great blues tones,if you tweak the overdrive pedal effect in the mustang it can also sound good but not quite up to par tone wise compared to the behringer.

the MV also sounds good with some of the high gain amp models at louder volumes but the effects are still not that good overall in the mustang compared to the vypyr,i would say the reverbs are poor in the mustang for example and the pitch shifter could be better.

The vypyr 30 is the loudest 30w solid state amp that i have ever heard! This amp gets really loud at a volume setting of 2 and can get loud as my mustang V but you do not get that fuller 4x12 cab punch and tone if you stand further away from the amp.

My vypyr sounds better now after the modifications mentioned above and if i stand close to it about two or three feet away it can sound like my 4x12 cab. I can get good metal tones and great overdrive tones out of the vypyr but the cleans are weak in volume compared to the other higher gain models but it still has some good clean tones,if i tweak the pre and post gains i can boost the level for the clean amp models to a good fairly loud level, that being said i would still say the mustang V has better clean amp models and does sound much closer to the original fender amps that are modeled in the mustang V.

Perhaps you can try playing some music and see for yourself.

You obviously don't read the other messages on the board. Fender IS NOT GOING TO RESPOND to that request. They adamantly refuse to respond, at this point, to any inquiry regarding the fizz issue. They made one statement about it and have refused to comment further on the matter. I don't even know why you're still counting days. You'll be counting days until 2037 when you finally give up and move on.
