Hello,

I am new to guitar so please bear with me. I bought the Mustang I and i love it. I bought the one button footswitch as well. I have not played around with the presets at all. How come the volume is greatly different between amp settings? the clean ones seem to be remarkebly lower.

Thanks

That's just the nature of gain structure. That and the fact that the people who create the presets never ever bother to equalize the overall volumes from preset to preset. This is true with pretty much anything that has presets, from modelers, multi-effects units and synthesizers. The fix is relatively easy, just lower the volumes of the louder presets and hit "Save". Conversely, using Fuse, you can add a compressor in the Post Gain position, set the compression level really low if you don't want it to change the sound/feel and increase the output of the compressor. That will bring up the volume of the preset while still keeping it clean sounding with low gain.

Thanks. Ill try that.

On another note. Do you know of any presets that mimic the sound of Gilmour, Lifeson and Trey Anastatio? Bold for a beginner, I know but i would like to hear it anyway.

I'm probably the wrong person to ask as I'm a "Roll my own" type.

This (part III):

might also help explain why there is a volume difference for some presets.

The volume difference is due to the different amp model types. Some are high gain, some are clean amps. You'll also notice a difference playing different types of guitars.
