I have been using ABY with my other amps and get a great sound running 2 different amps together. So I know I can ABY 2 Mustangs. But what Im wondering is if its possible to run 2 FUSE software together.

Im brand new to the MIII and realy enjoying it. And realy blown away at what it and the software can do. Im gonna play this 1 for a few weeks just to be 100% sure that its a keeper. And If so, I would like to pick up another. Im realy liking the FUSE software. I know I could ABY basic wet/dry set up with 1 FUSE amp sim(wet) and then just the amp by itself(dry). Can I run 2 different FUSE softwares at 1 time?

I built my pc a few months back. Its Intel I5 based quad core oc'd to 4.3Ghz and have 8mb of ram mem. I use Win7 64 bit. Ive been monitoring the pc while running the FUSE software and the cpu and memory barely even know its running.

Im finding theres alot to mix and match with the software and am just trying to maximize its abilities. If it can run 2 FUSE at once , that would be great.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure FUSE will only allow one instance of it's self on any one system. Not sure how you'd get around that.

The simplist solution would be set up your presets before hand.

Or hot swap the usb cable.

Okay thanks.

Still in the learning stage with this amp as far as what it can/cant do. Can you save fuse custom made presets to the amp, so it dosent have to be hooked to the pc via the usb cable?

That's kinda the whole point of FUSE. You tweak the preset on the amp itself into something you like, then you save OVER that older preset. Then you don't need the computer. You just turn it to that preset.

I've rewritten EVERY preset on my Mustang II. I had to. I absolutely cannot stand all that reverb and I detest the phasers with something near a passion. Clean amp tones, that's what I want to hear.

I set up my banks so that RED is all high-gain (pre-amp gain turned up), GREEN is all low-gain (gain turned way down or off completely), and AMBER is all the in-between stuff.

Okay thanks, that is what I wanted to read 8)

Ive been having so much fun just tweeking the presets with Fuse, but havent attempted to save anything, so Im always starting back at scratch again after moving on to another preset

If Fender would get serious about open source and at least make a version of Fuse compatible with Linux, it would be possible to run multiple fuse sessions using virtualization software such as Virtualbox, Parallels, VMWare fusion/workstation, etc. but that doesn't seem to be in the cards and has previously been discounted by Fender in threads on this forum. It might be possible to run multiple Wintel virtual machines, but you'd have to buy a win license for each VM to be legal. It's really too bad Fender (and pretty much everyone else, to be fair) ignores Linux and the open source community.

I cant comment on Linux other than there probably just arent enough linux users out there to make a version for it be very profitable for Fender or any other sim amp manufacture. Or if they did it would probably cost some serious change making cost inhibative to typical buyers of $300 amps.

I didnt buy my MIII mainly based on price. I need conveince and simplicity. Know that modeling sims have gotten to the point of conectivity via usb, was purely a bonus for me. Its not the prefect amp...Im beginning to doubt there is such a thing anyway

But its a decent sounding amp with a huge variety of tweakable configurations. I do wonder if there will be the ability to do a master/slave set up? That would be the collest thing ever. I already mix and match amps with an ABY box. Mixing 2 amps at the same time realy fills the room with sound. Even for a home BR amature player like me, the sound from 2 different amps is amazing.

So now just looking at the MI/II/III models, this is possible to do at a fairly resonable price. Cheap actually to have 2 amps at those model prices. For a couple hundered bucks to @ $600 you can have a dual rig set up.

The FUSE app can only see one amp at a time so what you're trying to do may not be possible. Regarding Linux, we're actually waiting for Moonlight to mature.
