My compressor gives me no sense of compression. I could use a real compressor but in this day and age one would think that a digital compressor wouldn't be that hard to create.
My amp sounds are great. I hear the fizz but I think that is the processor trying to 'Bloom' the note which it does manage at times.
Still there is no sense of compression from the compressors only a sense of boost. I hope Fender can fix this.
Anyone else notice this?

What parameter are you adjusting on the compressor? Is the compressor in the Pre Gain or Post Gain? Are you using Fuse?

I just got off the phone with a charming and sincere fellow who handed me a line of typical sales BS.
What possessed people to blow people off with this sort of nonsense?
As to your question the answer is all of the above. The Fender compression works as well as the manual describes how to manipulate the various effects. It doesn't. If this were a Zoom or Digitech or Boss product it would be a huge failure. I would like to be reasonable but with silly lines like 'there is some much variation in what people expect from compression..' or 'there are so many parameters available...' I cannot trust a company that would pretend its consumer base doesn't recognize compression. Of course since there is no description of what they claim to be a compressor exists and no instructions on what the so called controls do, they can pretend they believe they have a compressor.
For those of you who don't know simply go to any guitar store and try a Boss or Digitech compressor. You will hear immediately what a compressor does. It suppresses the loud and boosts the soft in a fully discernible way.
There is no way this should be a difficult thing to dial in as this is the primary and really only function of a compressor.

OK, well, could you post a clip with the compressor on and off? I've never had an issue with the Mustang's compressor - and I am extremely picky about guitar compressors. I think Digitech's is very good - maybe a bit better than what's in a Roland/Boss modeler, Vox's compressors are nearly as good and Line6's being the absolute worst ever. Fender's compressors on the Mustang are extremely good in my experience - maybe even the best in that they're the most natural sounding and don't pump too much or at least not in a bad way. To me, the best guitar compressors don't make the attack too "thumpy" sounding - that's what Line6's does. Bloody stinking awful! They should just soften the attack a bit and allow the sound of the pick to still come through. I'm curious to hear what you're getting.

Hey Donny,

What exactly do you want the compressor to do that it isn't doing? In my experience is does tend to boost the signal but also keeps it at a somewhat uniform volume. What settings are you using?
