Any word on when the EXP-1 is going to start shipping?

Dealers should start receiving units in the next few weeks.

Wow.....next few weeks!!!! Really???!!! I paid for mine here in Ontario at (Long and McQuaide) at the end of January because they had it in their system. Thats a long time to prepay for an item that is not even shipping yet......I gotta say I'm not happy with that.

Loren, any info on the signal to noise ratio yet?

Hey Scott,

I apologize for the delay. Measuring the S/N ratio on amps like the Mustangs can be very tricky. There are lots of variables involved. Things such as tone stack settings and the type and amount of distortion used all have an impact. It would be difficult to get an real world figure that we'd feel comfortable posting.

I'm sorry for the wait, Joskoh. Dealers typically have many non-shipping items in their systems. They may not always know exactly when to expect delivery of them.

Went through the same thing with the foot switch for the SuperChamp SD when it first came out. Finally cancelled my order for the Fender and found a Crate that worked with it. Don't think we'll see an option like that here. And to think they could be taking our money to the bank right now.

It seems to me that you are trying to explain that this is my dealer's problem. I would imagine that a Fender salesperson told my dealer that Fender was coming out with a new product and then gave them a SKU number and Item number. Just like Fender announced this new expression pedal on Jan 18 on this forum which was right around after I had already ordered it.

Maybe when you make a new product announcment you should state when the "realistic" date of availability really is. I'm not happy about giving my money away when the item will not be available for months. I'm IT support specialist and I wish I could start selling computers that will be out next year today!!

Anyway....it's too late now so I'll I can do is wait and write my opinions in this forum in the hopes that someone a Fender actually listens. Finally, as I end this note I notice it is April Fools today and I guess I'm the one that's been fooled.

I bought the first Mustang Floor from Guitar Center in Burnsville MN last week. Great sounding presets right out of the box when used on house PA. Plugged into a Beringher acoustic amp and it was nice there too. Plugged into my Princeton chorus and I had to tone down the amp settings somewhat to reduce the harshness of that amp. Very happy with the presets.
Instruction manual: non existent. FYI----on the fly adjustments are not going to be easy to do live! Better have your settings close as possible to what you want at rehearsals. One frustration I have had so far is when I am trying to adjust the presets onboard the unit they don't seem to save correctly or save at all. They are reverting back to the preset levels that the factory set up. Maybe someone here can fill me in on what i am doing wrong.
The download of firmware update was easy. It comes with Fuse software and was not clearly spelled out of how to use it and download it. NO manual comes in the box. Also having a huge problem with Abelton lite8 and the Floor working together. Hopefully this forum has a lot of techno savvy peeps that can help me with the asio driver or windows realtek driver set up. I cannot record into the software from my floor unit. Not sure if I can usb directly to my computer from the floor into the abelton or not. Or does it require an interface?
OVERALL it has super models and sound.

Hi,

Sweetwater.com say they have the EXP-1 in stock. !!!!!!!!!

Go for it @ http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EXP1
Let's find out if it's for real.

No good if your not in the USA (like me in Europe).

Thomann, Germany have removed it from their stock list. !

Did you turn off the memory lock in the utility menu? (Click the Util button a few times until you reach the screen that allows you to unlock the memory.)

You shouldn't need a separate interface for recording (keep in mind though, you cannot output sound to the Mustang over USB). I don't use Ableton though, so no advice on that.

PITA

I will check on that memory lock. I believe it was off.

And you are correct in that I have to use the stereo jack output on the laptop and not the Mustang Floor. I will keep working on it as i have time. Thanks. If you hear anything else about it pleasepost.

The plot thickens.......I just got a voicemail message from Long and McQuade where I ordered the elusive EXP-1 Pedal back in January because I had nothing else I could use my $100 for. The voice message said that they just found out their supplier somehow lost the order and that it will be arriving in the next 5 - 6 weeks. Unbelievable!!!!!! In todays computer age they actually want me to believe that an order was lost!!! Like we place an order on a piece of paper and tie it to a pigeon to send to the supplier!!! My guess is someone at Fender instructed them to relay this bogus story on to their customers!!!! What a brilliant story it is too!!! It's not Long and McQuade's fault because they placed the order. It's not Fender's fault because the supplier "lost" the order. What a bunch of crap!!!!!

I received the voicemail I wrote about above on Thursday telling me I would have to wait another 5-6 weeks for the EXP-1 pedal. Yesterday (Monday) I received a telephone call again from Long and McQuade saying that my pedal was in!!! I went to the store and sure enough the pedal was finally in (from my order back in Jan 18). The guy at the store thinks the manager called Fender because he said the pedal came shipped direct from Fender and not their Canadian distributor where all their other Fender products come from.

So either my rants here on this website caused someone to ship the pedal to me or the manager of the store really did call Fender to complain......
