I'd like to know which to use to get my signal to the sound board: the 1/8" headphone jack (which I know is "squirrelly") or the FX send out the back...I will be able to use both left and right for the stereo. One issue raised to me was: will the FX send offer the cabinet emulation sound? Will one sound better than the other?
I'm hoping to use the FX send as it is a heartier hardware connection but, let's face it, it's about the sound.
The venue is a large church sanctuary. Thanks in advance!!!

I think the biggest sound difference between the headphone jack and the FX Loop Send is that the Headphone jack is controlled by the Master Volume control.

While the Celestion® G12P-80 speakers have their own frequency response that won't be included in the headphone out, the cabinet "models" in the DSP chip WILL be there. All you might need to do is re-eq the preset slightly to take into account the difference between playing through a Celestion® G12P-80 speaker and playing through, say, some 15" 300-watt PA speakers through a mixing board. It would be a very minor tweak.

It's nearly impossible to digitally replicate the sound of two very large 12" speakers inside a wooden speaker cabinet. The resonance there will be lost. Micing the amp WILL capture that and that, I think, is why a lot of people are more in favor with micing amps than just doing a line-out to a mixing board.

I tried direct to the board and is sounded awful on any gain patches. I think it has to do with the horns bring the distortion out too much, that it what it sounds like to me but I am guessing. I do know that it sounded horrible but if you are only using clean patches I would bet it will work.
