I have a Mustang III that's been ok. I get a lot of hiss on nearly every preset. Also, the amp is fairly complicated, i seem to spend most of my sessions going between all the presets. I wish I would've got a good tube amp instead. Does anyone regret this? Is there anything I need to reconsider before switching to a tube amp? Drawbacks?

Hook it up to a computer running Fuse and organize the sounds you want as adjacent presets in the first bank. Set a tube model you like as the power-on default with reverb and chorus you can toggle on/off. You'll probably never use 90 of the 100 presets available. And play around with the noise gate settings using Fuse for the hiss.

It's hard to argue with wanting a good tube amp...though the emphasis there is on "good". A mediocre tube amp will probably be less satisfying than the Mustang III. You'll definitely need to spend more than you did on the Mustang III.

But I would recommend dialing in a few presets to your taste, then forgetting about the rest of them. Personally, my go-to presets on the Mustang are a Twin Reverb, Deluxe Reverb, British 70s, British 80s, then Metal 2000 that I have dialed in to my liking. And I'm almost always using one of those 5 basic presets. Then I also set up a few effects presets that I can add on the fly, if needed.
