I don't see why not. I've run a number of BOSS pedals through my M2 and it works just fine.

Lots of users are using different pedals with their Mustangs. You'll want to tweak settings a bit since connecting pedals to modeling amps can be a little different than using them with tube amps.

What you'll eventually come to learn is that a lot of people who work at music stores just work at music stores and don't really know anything more about the equipment that they sell than your average customer does. At MY local music store, I already know volumes more about the Fender Mustang series of amps than the guys there do and I've been known to sell a few for them based on what I know.

Quite literally, I've heard the guy say something like "If you wanna know more about it, you could ask this guy here. He knows a lot more about these little amps than we do..." while I was there one time. And I don't work there.

This is true. The V head has more than enough presets, friggen love it. I just have a Boss ML-2 Metal Core Distortion Pedal and I love it. the sales guy said it would sound cruddy, just the fact it was Digitial, and possibley ruin my cab?? Anyways with some tweeking it works (sounds) the same as it were comming through a tube amp, are solid state.

There are a few ways to ruin your cab. You could channel a lightning bolt into your cabinet to melt all your wires. You could set it on fire with a blowtorch. You could smash it with a sledgehammer.

Unfortunately, putting a simple stomp box in the line before your amp will never EVER cause damage to your speakers. That's simply not possible.

Since the pre-amp of the Mustang series is basically a small computer, then it's a good idea to NOT push the input too hard. So using power/gain boosting pedals (like the Ibanez TubeScreamer) are a no-go. Use those with REAL tube amps that can handle that. For the Mustang amps, use COSM pedals like most of BOSS's line and set the Mustang to a relatively clean amp setting so you can do your distortion with your pedal and I think you'll be very happy with the result.

Just remember that pushing a loud signal through the input of a digital amp modeller like the Mustang won't give you any distortion like it would through a hard-wired tube amp. Any tube distortion would need to be done from within the amp model... i.e. AFTER the input jack. This is why I say use a clean amp and then do a digital distortion before, like the BOSS Metal Zone or Power Stack. Turn your level down a bit more on these and raise the gain/distortion.
