My 1/8" TRS (stereo) male head phone jack does not connect the head phones or disconnect the main speakers. Is this output jack a mono jack?

I got my AKG 340 headphones fed. I didn't realize that I had to turn the Master control to almost max to get volume on the headphones. I measured the impediance of the 340 and I'm getting 342 ohms per side. Maybe that's why I need so much master to get a decent volume to the ear.

Yeah, I've got a set of SONY MDR-V600 dynamic stereo studio headphones and they work fine with normal volumes on the headphone jack. Maybe it's just your headphones that are different.

The other thing is that I wish Fender would have installed a 1/4" headphone jack rather than that flimsy 1/8" jack. It's sturdier to reduce from 1/4" to 1/8" than to expand from 1/8" to 1/4".

I use a Sony headphone but I cannot recall the series. Full sterio, and it can get louder than I need it to. I do have to adjust setting if using headphone vs. the cab.

So do the headphones disconnect the main speakers or not? That would seem the be the more serious issue.

I am home now and the Sony headphones I use are MDX-XD200. Yes, when the headphones are plugged in the main speakers are not engaged.

I did get the speakers to disengage when I plugged in the AKG 340's. What is the output impedance range for the head phone jack? Must be considerably less than 342 ohms.
