I have the same problem. I do a search for, say blues, presets and nothing shows up. Anyone found a solution?

It seems that my "Documents" folder had been renamed to "My Documents", or something of similar effect. I compared with other user accounts on the same machine, and they have a "Documents" and then a "My Documents" link to the "Documents" folder

This is (mostly) normal behaviour for Windows. The actual folder on disk is called "Documents" and every user has one. However, Windows does a 'trick' for the logged-in user and makes it look like the folder name is actually "My Documents."

(This harks back to the days when Microsoft naively assumed there would only ever be one user per computer, and called the folder "My Documents" when "My" only had to refer to one person. Now there are potentially lots of users, the prefix "My" only applies to the current user. If you browse to (assuming you have permission) another user's "Documents" folder, Windows does another trick and presents it to you with the name "<other user>'s Documents" - eg "Fred's Documents." Then when Fred logs in, the folder that you saw as "Fred's Documents" now appears to him as "My Documents" etc.)

Depending on the version of Windows, there may be shortcuts called "My Documents" etc all pointing at the genuine "Documents" folder. It's possible other applications have created these for their own use, if they aren't using the correct library calls to access the real folders. It's also possible to relocate the "Documents" folder to somewhere other than "C:\Users\..." and again that can lead to spurious shortcuts and additional (incorrect) folders if applications haven't been written properly to use the correct method for locating all these 'standard' folders.

The upshot of the previous paragraph is that it's possible for a computer to get in a mess regarding the location/name of the Documents folder, which then screws up applications trying to access files in that folder.

I don't know for certain, but from the descriptions it sounds as though that may be what's happened here, with FUSE being a victim of an underlying problem created by another application on the computer. I can't comment on whether FUSE is doing absolutely the correct thing itself to identify the right "Documents" folder, but if something isn't quite right to start with, it wouldn't surprise me if FUSE gets confused.

Hi micklamm,

I have just done a search for Fender G-DEC 3 and Fender Mustang under blues as a Title search. I found a number of available Presets in both searches. Perhaps you can clarify what the exact search is that you are running. Thanks.

Hi gozdek,

I will be happy to assist. We recommend that you try installing our latest Beta Release build of Fender FUSE, to see if it will help resolve the issue you are seeing. Please let us know how it goes and if we can assist further. Thanks.

to all experiencing issues, please run any pending Windows Updates and try again. Let us know if it's ok after that.

As I understand it, Fender FUSE, MS Silverlight, and MS Internet Explorer all work together. If any one of these is not updated, you may have issues. I'm wondering if this has to do with a missing Internet Explorer update.

Also I noticed this in common:

Can anyone confirm not having this issue on 64 bit Windows?

To Fender staff: Does FUSE rely on any plugins like Flash, Java or Shockwave? Maybe one of those needs to be updated to get everything working right?

I run FUSE 2.6.0.25 on Vista 64-bit and everything I do with it works fine. I have latest versions and updates for O/S, Flash, IE 9. However, I'm not sure I've tried to do EXACTLY what those with the problem report. I'll try and test that this evening and report back.

Hi Guys,

The Fender FUSE software will run as a 32 bit application on 64 bit machines. If you try to select both WEB tabs, before typing in a search phrase, once you click the GO button, are you still not able to see Fender FUSE filter the results? Please let us know and we can take it from there.

looks like you're not waiting long enough for the results (in this video anyway). They never pop up that fast for me, and I'm on a fast computer with a fast Internet connection. Try waiting longer.

Great video by the way, shows exactly what's happening on your end, g/j!

OK, I just tested the exact problem scenario. I have FUSE 2.6.0.25 on Vista 64 bit, with the latest O/S and IE9 updates, plus latest Flash etc.

When I do a search, it takes anything from a few seconds to a few tens of seconds to show the results. But I do get results.

The "Web" icon under the search box has to be highlighted in order to search the web, but (unlike other previous posts) I don't seem to need the second "Web" icon lower down the screen, to the right of "Media Library" to be selected.

However I did notice something weird: sometimes the search results exactly match my search query. Other times they don't. For example, searching for "Folk" gives results that don't contain the word "Folk" in any of the Name, Author, Genre or Description fields (as well as results that do contain the word). But searching for "Syrinx" only gives results where Syrinx is the author, not those with the word Syrinx in the description.

Finally, searching for "rectifier" shows three results, none of which contain that word - yet I know there are many presets that do contain it. However, FUSE tells me there are five pages of results - trying to select subsequent pages just gives empty lists.

So something is definitely wrong with this somewhere...
