I bought a Mustang V Head about four months or so and I have been trying to get a decent tone setting that did not have a fizzy after tone in my extension cab. No such luck. So I am about to unleash this thing onto the general public of ebay, when on a whim I did a little experimenting. I happen to have a really nice keyboard amp.

So, I hooked the headphones out to one of these http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KP200S/

Holy crap, that is the tone I was hoping for when I got the Mustang V and hooked it up to my 2 x 12 extension cabinet. Just clean gut busting fender tone on all of the presets.

So I will check out the new Mustang Floor Board and if it performs the same with my Motion Sound Amp, problem solved. I will probably sell the Mustang V Head to make up the difference and just use my Motion Sound for amping the great Mustang tones and use my extension cab for my Blues Deluxe Reissue.

Wow. Eliminate the Fizz problem by bypassing the power amp section and paying extra for additional speakers and a non-Fender power amp circuit. Great solution!

Though not fully explored yet, and I'm not using a cab, just the head for recording, there seems to be an even cheaper fizz fix -- the Behringer NR300 ($24.95, AmericanMusicalSupply).

I tried it out last night. Guitar>Morley ab-y>Behringer NR300>Mustang V.

...shockingly good sounds now -- sounds amazing via >TASCAM US 144>PC>AlesisM1 320 USB speakers or Sony headphones.

We're talking huge stack sounds and clean, tasty Fender sounds. And, it took me all of 2 minutes to dial in very, very, very, very satisfying tones!

Also, I use a Zoom G9.2tt into the effects loop as an alternative to bypass the Fender DSP/Pre-Amp section (you skip the DSP/pre-amp via the effects loop, not the power amp).

When I tested the NR 300, it was without the Zoom plugged in!

Now, I need to figure out how to wire this all up so that I can ab-y the Zoom and Mustang.

...I'm not sure I'll ever need a cab, it sounds way good via speakers and headphones. But, I'll probably get one anyways ...if the sound holds up and don't go fizz again!

...do you have any idea how good it felt to plug directly into the Fender V, crank it, and it's noiseless until you hit a string and then it sustains until the note decays completely, without fizz,...like a real amp??? It was a HUGE relief!

Also, I'm using really good cables and patch cables. George Lynch 155's and a George L patch cord kit! So, if you're getting noise w/ the Behringer, try the George L cables.

Behringer claims the NR 300 does what more expensive boxes do. I chuckled, but remembered how nice their midi foot pedal is, so I gave it a try. ...this thing worked right out of the box, hush, quiet, done, no fiddling necessary neither!

Has anybody else had this kind of success with a noise suppressor???
