How do i connect my boss rc-20xl to my mustang 3 so I can still use the regular input with my guitar? Everytime when i connect the pedal to the fx loop the guitar becomes muted.

Guitar -> Mustang Input -> Mustang FX SEND -> Loop Station Instrument Input -> Loop Station Output -> Mustang FX RETURN -> face-melting rock

Shouldn't be. If the Loop station is in the FX loop and the RC-20XL is the one stopping the signal, then you won't get anything out of the amp's speakers. The Mustang's FX loop is an all-on or all-off thing. If anything is plugged into the loop jacks, it will disable the bypass circuit and force everything through the loop.

Make sure you have power supplied to the Loop Station. I did a quick look on the back of your box and saw that the Output jack was also labeled "Power On." Make sure your pedal is turned on and has power and try again.

It must work like FFXIhealer said.
I have an akai headrush and a BBE sonic stomp clone plugged into the M3 's loop. No problem.
Be sure to follow the right chain given above.

I have been considering the BBE sonic stomp pedal for my MIII. What is this BBE "clone" that you speak of? :?

It is called the bloviator http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/B ... viator.pdf ( right free as it is a "based on" and "retooled" pedal).
Awesome in the MIIIs loop.
It is most of the time on in my setup.

Some pics of my DIY pedal:

Okey, but lets say that in some crazy world it still doesn't work, is it the that is the problem then?

Then the issue is either in your MIIIs loop or in your cable or in your effect.
See if you can eliminate the two last by testing them separately.
If they are OK (cable and effect) then your MIIIs loop function have a problem.
