Hey,
Ive got my new Mustang I not so long ago and I am having a hard time getting any kind of brighter, cleaner, sharper distortion out of it.All I get is heavy, too crunchy, dark distortion anyhow I set the amp.Ive already tried so many presets from the website, tried to get it done manually by myself and still nothing.

I am using a Epiphone Les Paul 100 with and EMG H4 in the bridge. The kind of sound I am looking for is used by bands like: Falling in Reverse, Escape the Fate etc. but I would be happy to even get close to those.

Best Regards,
Rixxon

Lack of "sharp & bright" distortion (especially for palm muting) was the reason why I escaped from Mustang1 to Roland Cube. I was in the same situation as you, many knobs in FUSE, many amp sim options, but the result ..... :?

What amp model are you using?

I suggest you to keep the amp bass knob at around 30%, treble amp knob 70%-100%, overdrive stomp highs to the max and dont scoop to much your mids, your EMG is already doing that job. Also i find that 4x12G e V cabs fit better the sound you are searching for...

You can find a sample here: https://fuse.fender.com/mustang/preset.php/mordor74-thrash-metal-2k-megadeth-metallica (Metallica is intended as the band pre-black album, dont be scared! ) to it is sharp as Glass pieces.

I dont know your specific bands but listening to Falling in Reverse songs i can bet they are layering guitars. Use a very short delay to double your guitar or try using the Metal 2000 without odstomp and use the pitch shifter to produce a second salightly of sinc and detune guitar voice ;) .

Let me know if it works for you!
