Just got a new Mustang V. We are trying to get it connected in the FUSE program. The USB cable is connected. When we hold down the data wheel and turn the amp on it it recognized in FUSE and asks to update firmware. That is the only way to get our AMP to become connected in the FUSE program. Anyone out there know how to get the amp to show up connected without holding down the datawheel as you would to update firmware? Thanks to any help.

I never have to hold anything when I power on the amp. Fuse just connects. Now, on my NETBOOK, it takes a good 30-60 seconds for FUSE to start, then another 8-15 seconds for FUSE to connect and sync with the Mustang amp, but that's a failing of any low-powered device like the netbook. My Desktop, it's almost instant.

Maybe you could try letting it sit and see if it connects properly. The Mustang V doesn't really have anything special in FUSE to show it's connected (like the Mustand 1 and 2 pop up the two MOD wheels at the top center of the screen). You can verify that it's connected by turning the selector wheel to change presets and see if the preset on FUSE changes automatically. If so, they're synced and you can edit away.

Yes, it does. Left side, lower corner. When it's connected, there's a green dot/"light" with the words; "Mustang Connected" next to the green dot. When it's not connected, there's a red light with the words; "No amplifier connected" next to the red dot.

Hmmm. I must be way too used to using FUSE on my netbook. The bottom of the FUSE window is always cut off, so I can never log into the Fuse community that way. Hell, to reach a stomp-box's on/off switch, I have to go into FULL-SCREEN mode. And we've already had a number of people asking Fender to include some kind of lower-resolution version for netbooks already, so I won't go on it again here.

Hey fmb95,

So even after the firmware update the amp won't connect to FUSE? What OS are you using on your computer?
