Dear Fender forum moderators,

I am owning a Mustang III and would be greatly interested in the schematics of this amp. I had a look in the support area where I discovered such information for almost each and every Fender amp, except for the Mustangs. Could you please provide me with that information?

Thanks!

I'm gonna guess that they are not available. I have a Vox Valvetronix VT50. It died 4 months after the warranty went out. Vox wouldn't help me. I talked to my tech and he said that only Authorized Service Techs could get schematics for the amp. I have a friend that offered to work on it, but wasn't able to get it working and he couldn't get a schematic for it. The circuit board went on my VT50 and my friend couldn't get one, again, he needed to be an AST.

My tech told me that only Authorized Service Techs were able to get schematics for the modelling amps that were coming out. I could be wrong, but I kind of doubt it. From my understanding, if a Mustang amp goes out, it is basically a replacement issue, not a repair. But I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

But wouldn't hurt asking again. :)

Hey Guys,

jcwillow777 - Your tech was correct. Only authorized service centers have access to schematics. That is unlikely to change anytime soon.

You broke both your pedals, at the same time? They're pretty robust, that must have been quite an accident. What happened? Obviously very fortunate that the amp itself was completely unharmed in the accident.

What exactly have you broken on your pedals? Replacing any of the external parts, eg the buttons themselves or jack socket, is a simple DIY operation that doesn't need schematics. If the damage to the outside of the pedals was sufficient also to destroy their innards, then it's going to be much simpler/cheaper just to replace the pedals.

Fender don't publish schematics for these items. The MS-4 is a digital device and probably has custom ICs on it. Nothing you can repair on that.

The MS-2 is a much simpler device and it's easy to figure out its operation. It's just two non-latching switches; normally it's open-circuit. Pressing the left button closes the circuit with approx 5kohm resistance. Pressing the right button closes the circuit with approx 15kohm resistance.
