1. I bought a Mustang 1 as a simple practice amp, not expecting much. It had a horrid vibration in the cheap little case. Closed back + volume of 4 or more = unplayable vibrating case like a kids bike with a card in the spokes.

2. Returned that Mustang 1 for another. Same problem. Returned that one and...

3. Thought screw it, lets go 3 times the price and get a Mustang 3 with an open back and be done with this. That amp had the "fizz" problem bad. Manufactured 02/2011.

4. Returned it but the store had no more Mustang 3's in stock to sample so I got a refund. By now the only dealer within many miles of me is thinking I am "that guy", the nit-picking jerk customer no-one wants to see in the store. This ones box had been opened before I got it, probably returned before, yet the guys in the store said they'd "never heard of the Fender Fizz before". Anyway they restocked the one I returned & stuck it right back on the floor. Good luck to the next poor sucker.

5. Went to another store 60 miles away and got another Mustang 3, after carefully checking it for fizz, there was none. Manufacture 07/2011. Got it home, went to adjust a preset, the Data Wheel press button was dead (press about 10 times to get it it to register once). So without a PC + Fuse software connected it was unable to edit presets, effects, whatever. Back to the store for a refund. Not trying again and ruining my rep at another store.

In short, $50 in gas, and 1.5 weeks of jerking around, all these amps are cheap, low quality, Chinese crap! Run away fast and hard! I went through 4 of them and I am NOT a nit-picker, and all were defective junk. My reputation at the only nearby music store is ruined and I suspect I am one return from being told I am not welcome there anymore. Fender's rep is still golden. FU Fender. FU hard! Never another dime for anything from me.

Hey Quexoz,

I"m sorry you had such a bad experience with your amps. I'm not sure why your Mustang I's performed the way they did. It seems that the vast majority of users love their Mustang and don't experience any of the problems you did. Please believe me when I say that we are committed to making the best products we can. Hopefully you'll give Fender products another shot in the future.

It seems your frustrations have taken a toll on your patience...and certainly understandable. I kind of had the same issue with a certain Fender Tele guitar..but all in the same shop with one return after another. All were certified to be defective by the shop itself and I was refunded fully..thank Goodness

I think the reallity is..that there is going to always be a batch of defects..for various reasons...machines needing to be re-calibrated ..etc..etc..

I can varify this much...if you can find a properly working Mustang amp..they truly are Fantastic and virtually endless in what you can get out of them sound wise

Thanks to teach me that I am playing on a "cheap, low quality, Chinese crap" amp.
I always appreciate such comment.

The times . . . they are a changing.

Thank heaven for cheap Chinese amps rather than cheap Chinese Volvos and Jaguars.

Just pick up a fizzless V.2 at the end of March.

Sorry about your experience. If I told you I "loved" mine, I'd be lying. But they grow on you. Slowly.

Returning an amp can be a hassle. My Mustang III (an Xmas gift) grew on me just enough to make a return too much of a hassle. Truly a strange amp, like the developers were in a hurry to jump on the modeling train.

Sure, mine has fizz. They all do. But I try not to go "looking" for it.

For just under three bills, it's a fun amp. Or it can be.
