What you describe is not the fizz. Fizz occurs on clean tones, not high-gain distorted presets. Fender itself acknowledges that their Mustang III-V fizz; they just won't do anything about it.

Wanted to help some frustrated Mustang owners out there.

I own the mustang III and noticed the fizz and static noise coming from the amp as well.
Seems to only occur on the high gain distorted presets...I don't think it's a problem with the amp. I think it's a problem with user not being formiliar with the amp or least with me anyway.
After doing some research online thinking my amp was faulty I found a blog where the blogger points out that these particular presets have the volume set to high and sometimes the noise gate setting set to off or low and suggests turning down the preset volume and using the noise gate on amp preset...works like charm. NOISE GONE!!

I would think Fender would make note somewhere as I believe after seeing alot of reviews people returning these amps as faulty...when I believe the fault is with the users not the amp itself.

I hope this helps everyone.

What you're describing is not the fizz.

The fizz is a fluctuating buzzing that accompanies clean notes on low gain settings when those notes are allowed to ring out. It's an unnatural buzz that rises in volume and then falls as the note decays. It's most easily heard at low volumes. It makes the amp unsuitable for some small-room jazz guitar solos.

And with that description, again mine never had fizz.

He means that as far as we know the fizz only concern Mustang 3, 4 and 5.
The Mustang II (2) is not so much concerned and, by the way, not included in this thread.
Anyway this is not a bid deal.

But of course if more people want, I can add all mustang to the vote.

It sounds like you are hearing noise ... not fizz. There is a difference between fizz and noise ... you have to learn to tell the difference.

If you hear fizz ... we can't help ya.

If ya hear noise ... that's normal. Some folk hear a lot ... some hardly none ... depends on a lot of variables. Noise is picked up through the pickups & wiring and sometimes through other parts of the signal chain.

Noise comes in many forms but it's usually heard as hum, hiss or buzzing ... some folk also hear florescent lighting, computer fans, hard drive activity and broadcast signals etc. Some hum is common ... hiss and buzzing are harder to fix and are often caused by a fault of some type ... bad pot, bad ground etc. Anything you hear that is louder than hum is a definite fault somewhere in the signal chain.

If in your case, you hear any noise through your Mustang ... and it stops when you turn your computer and monitor off ... that is normal ... especially for single coils. The most common PARTIAL solution is shielding your pickup cavity and pick guard ... it will get rid of some of it, maybe even most of it ... but not all of it. There are other ways noise can creep in and other ways to address it ... but this is the most common first step. There is also outboard equipment that can help.

If in your case, you hear noise through your Mustang even after you turn your computer and monitor off ... then those are not the sources and you'll have to do a little investigation.

What you describe doesn't sound like fizz. fizz is unrelated to computer/fuse issues. Some people have noted, however, that fizz doesn't manifest through headphone only listening; only speaker output. This is fizz:

That's a fizz rate of 75%.
