Heard alot about this, but can anyone define "clean"? i.e. if you turn the gain to a certain point, does the problem disappear? And is it on all amp models? Thanks.

I have the IV model..bought it this past Feb...No fizz at all. Seems that some of the models have a worm or bug in the software..others don't :shock:

@musicmatty

This statement is unverifiable in regards to the MIII to MV.

The fizz in the MI and MII was eliminated or reduced for most owners via revised Fender software.

The fizz in the MIII to MV has not been eliminated or reduced by revised Fender software and there has been no explanation of the cause of the fizz by Fender and users have yet to pin down the cause as well.

The statement re software bug may be unverifiable, but what is verifiable is that he has apparently had a Mustang IV for 9 months and it doesn't fizz - maybe thats actually the more interesting fact.

This is what was stated to me by a music shop owner who I do business with. I asked him if he any problems with the Mustangs regarding 'Fizz' and he said yes. He also said that Fender told him it was a bug or worm..virus in the software. If you think about it...certainly makes sense :shock: Shittt happens...but I'm sure the next batch has been scoped thru and thru for such problems and to ward off this problem from infecting other Mustangs :D

@musicmatty

I am very skeptical that the fizz problem for the MIII to MV is due to a software problem of any sort ... although I can't prove it. At first glance it seems logical to blame the fizz problem on software ... but at this point in time that idea makes no sense ... because the fizz problem has been going on from day one and Fender has since issued several software revisions ... and users continue to report that software updates have neither reduced or eliminated their fizz problem.

Guys - there is a big 50+ page thread on the fizz. Would it be possible please NOT to start/contribute to a new thread here, but to post in the original thread here:

viewtopic.php?f=27&t=57294&start=750

This will help keep continuity by trying to keep all feedback/comments/views on the fizz in one place.

You'll see from the main thread that as Fender have drawn a line under this issue, I'm trying to find an owner with a fizzing MIII in the Napa, San Francisco Bay area that is prepared to have their amp examined so we can get technical evidence to take matters further (see the main thread for details).

Your co-operation guys would be much appreciated to try & keep all this in one place.

Rich :wink:
