I am curious as to why the Mustang has no User Presets like everything else I have ever owned does. I may not like the ones that come with the amp but there may be a situation somewhere down the line that I can make use of them. I know they can be loaded from Fuse and all that, but I do not take a laptop on stage with me and technology being what it is, would never want to spend the time tweaking stuff while the audience waits. They are there to be entertained, not watch me play with a stupid computer. It would be nice if user presets were included so that all I have to do is hit the footswitch a few times and we can rock out, without having wonder if the computer is in sleep mode or did I load the preset I need or any number of other things that can happen once a computer is introduced into the mix. KISS (keep it simple stupid)

Hey pappak,

More than likely there are a good number of presets on the amp that you have no use for. What I would do is take a minute to note those presets, arrange the presets you do like in order, and treat the remaining presets as a user bank. Keep in mind that you can restore the amp to factory settings.

Do you have a MI or II? The higher models have 100 presets instead of 24 which makes this even less of an issue.

I have a III, didn't know they could be arranged, this would help a lot in so many ways. even so, when I overwrite one I always think, what if I want to hear that again. Then I have to save my user one to the computer and so on... With user presets, it wouldnt matter. Just a thought?

Think of it as having 100 user slots, with Fender having just filled them all in to give us some hints on how the amps and effects might be combined.

If someday you end up with more than 100 of your own, you will face exactly the same problem of which baby to throw overboard.

How exactly does one go about putting the presets in the order I would like them to be in?

You can do it using FUSE, saving presets to different locations (you may want to save the first one on your computer before you overwrite it with its replacement at that location). This works well enough if you only want to rearrange a few.

For mass rearranging, take a look at this:
viewtopic.php?f=26&t=55395
which basically allows you to rearrange the presets in a backup, then you can restore the backup and your amp should then have the presets in the desired order.

HTH,
