Hey,

I've seen all the fizz talk and I believe my Mustang is fizz free but the other day at rehearsal it seemed as if my became "ungrounded." Does that make sense? I have a noise gate set within my Marshall setting and it used to do it's job perfectly. Now the dreaded noise hum is unstoppable. I'm also using humbucking pick ups. Help!!!

Could be the beginning of fizz, or something else. This report is similar to what degraded, in fairly short order, to noticeable "fizz" on my amp. At first, I just observed a background noise/hum/undertone on clean tones, but over just a few days, the envelope effect became obvious.

It could be something else. The thing that seems to differentiate fizz from other problems is an envelope effect, that is, a shaping of the overtones as the note decays. If you just have a constant hum, then it doesn't sound like fizz. But if there is a kind of delay, modulation or shape to the noise as the note decays on clean tones, then that's what I understand most people to be referring to as fizz and what two fender techs described as, "they all do it."

I"m not sure what kind of noise can develop all of a sudden. Perhaps a connection became loose. I would try a factory restore. Also, make sure you have the latest firmware installed.
