simple one this: do I need to have my amp connected to my laptop for it to show as a device in the ASIO?

Yes. Your Mustang amplifier must not only be connected to the computer via USB, but it must also be turned on. If it is turned off, it will not show up on your computer at all.

Thanks FFXI,

I was trying to set up Ableton last night to record my other problems, stands to reason really! I don't know why I thought fender would include the models in the patch for stand alone setup?!
