I'm looking for presets or settings that will make a Mustang II sound more like a power amp into a studio monitor.

Hi there,

Try the 65 twin reverb setting and turn of the reverb and speaker simulation.
Play with the EQ a little than you should get close.

What kind of power amp? Tube or SS, pick a model that reflects that. What tubes 6V6, 6L6.... Which speaker cab?

Design your own.

Just keep the EQ to a flat setting, to your ear not the dial per se

Have you considered obtaining an "Empty" preset from someone on here? It's a preset with no amp model, no stomp pedal or rack effect, no cab, etc. I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't actually have it myself. Having recently picked up a Mustang V, I upgraded it to 1.8 firmware. Preset 99 was my "Basic Peavey 6505." It sat for almost a week unplugged in the corner until I picked up my 1960A cab for my Marshall JVM410H (oh yeah, I got a Marshall half-stack now!). I plugged in my Mustang V in next to the Marshall and now preset 99 just says Empty. I think I'm going to save it to my PC as a downloadable preset for people who want it.
