I am considering replacing the power input on the Mustang 1 with an rfi filter, given that we are basically talking about a PC here. If you look at any laptop/pc you will see ferrite noise filters on the power supplies- why didnt fender consider putting such a filter on the powr cord for the amp?
The other option, which also wont invalidate the warranty, is a ferrite ring and wrap the power cord around it a number of turns. I'm just now very aware of the possibility of dirty power affecting the amp, especially in a modern household with numerous electronic gizmos, wireless networks and virtual lans run over the ring mains.
