New owner of the MIII and new to the forum. I am loving this amp but also have the dreaded FIZZ... Anyway, this is the 4th modeling amp that I have owned and is the best sounding I have played in a while and it makes me want to play guitar again.

As far as amps, I have owned these models
Marshall Valvestate
Crate Palomino
Bugera V22
Peavey Valveking
Peavey Transformer
Peavey Vyper
Line 6 Flextone III
Fender Mustang III

I love the Mustang because the sound and customization that is possible with tweaking is amazing. The Flextone which was my most recent amp sucked compared to the Mustang but had much better foot control options. What good is a good foot controler if you can't get the sounds you want? The fizz is quite annoying but I only notice it on the clean sounds. The cleans on this amp are nice but I can't use them with the fizz. :( Some of the best rock/ metal settings I have found are using the Peavey 5150 and the 2x12C cab. I am not too thrilled with the marshall models but I use the 5150 and the 2x12 cab and lower the gain quite a bit to get a great ACDC sound. Anyway, glad I pulled the trigger on this amp after thinking about it for almost a year.

Congrats and welcome. I have an MIII and MIV. I don't have the dreaded fizz. I do have a 4 button and 2 button switch for both amps and that makes switching between patches while playing live fairly easy. I also use a volume pedal in my FX loop which helps, because some patches are louder than others. I also like to do swells with overdrive to get that violin type of effect. Sweetwater sells the 4 button switch for $40, and free shipping.

I am planning to get the 4 button footswitch here in a few weeks. Wish there was a better footswitch option but it is better than nothing. I'm. Not playing too many gigs in my basement anyway...

My 4-button switch from Sweetwater is actually in the mail right now - should arrive in a few days. I don't have the fizzing sound either - actually, haven't had any problems with my Mustang 3 yet. I actually traded in a CyberTwin for my Mustang, and haven't regretted that one bit. (Though, I do kinda miss the motorized knobs - those were kinda cool. ;)
