dont remember what I did but for some reason on channel 11 the one that says what the @#$%! all the settings on this preset says EMPTY even the amp part. it sounds really clean. Is this an option because I thought you had to at least use one of the many amps to choose from?

Wow! I don't think it's supposed to happen. But now that it has, can you save it as a separate preset using FUSE (and upload to the community) before overwriting it with a real preset? Please?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be eager to have the Mustang be a completely dry interface (or use it for "effects only" with some other amp/modeler/VST/...).

ok tried to upload it but it says it cannot upload preset.Im thinking that this might be some sort of corruption in the preset. weird thing about it is that it sounds really good.

Rebel393,

Thanks for the "4-minute mile". (And thanks for trying to get it uploaded.)

After thinking about your post a bit, I started playing around, and I've now uploaded a preset called "Empty". No amp, no nothing. It appears that only the volume control on the front (top?) panel works with this not-an-amp. But yes, it is possible to add effects into this empty chain. Check it out.

I'll have to fool around with it some more, just for giggles.

Could you upload "Empty" and a few "normal" presets to a generic filehost? I'm curious about this. I want to see if I can figure out the differences in what's stored in there, but can't download from the Fuse site without registering (I assume that is the problem).

I hacked the XML; started with a base preset (amp only, no effects, though this shouldn't matter), and replaced the amplifier section with:
Code:
  <Amplifier>
    <Module ID="0" POS="0" BypassState="1"></Module>
  </Amplifier>

Interesting. Is the key here POS or BypassState?

It is the Id.

Code:
<     <Module ID="117" POS="0" BypassState="1">
<       <Param ControlIndex="0">34952</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="1">49370</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="2">32896</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="3">25443</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="4">35080</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="5">13981</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="6">6553</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="7">32896</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="8">32896</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="9">32896</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="10">32896</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="11">32896</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="12">5</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="13">5</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="14">5</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="15">0</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="16">0</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="17">9</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="18">5</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="19">1</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="20">0</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="21">1</Param>
<       <Param ControlIndex="22">29298</Param>
<     </Module>

E.g., 117 above is the Twin.

Oh. I thought the ID would be the "amp module", POS would be the selection/value/position. What does BypassState=1 do if not bypass the element?

BTW, XML is so ugly. We need more JSON. :)
