Greetings All,

Just got my Fender Mustang 2 last week, and loving it thus far,the Fender Fuse Software is amazing, never knew an amp could get that indepth!

However, I'm having a issues using Ableton Live Lite and Amplitube Fender.

The ASIO driver always shows my output as being unavailable and from what I have read on the forums many people have had this issue.

It works now and then with Amplitube but even when it works I can only select 2 active speakers of the 6 in use (I'm using a 5.1 System) however with Ableton it almost never works.

Tried using the ASIO4all latest version as well but that didnt help either, can anybody please point me in the right direction as to where to go with this, as I would highly appreciate it !

Hi Dougiwe,

The Mustang is not a 5.1 capable device and will only send 2 signals at a time - to the left front and right front speakers.

Hey Dougiwe,

When ASIO says your device is unavailable does it mark it with a red X or a yellow key looking symbol? If it's a red X, then there is another application/service using your built in output making it unavailable to ASIO. This could be the OS using the device for system sounds as such as well. Try disabling system sounds and closing all apps/services other than the audio program you'd like to use.

If you still can't get it working, give us a call. We're happy to assist you with any ASIO related issues.

Hi Loren,

It marks it with a red X,I'll give disabling system sounds although it only completely disables it in Ableton and not with Amplitube Fender.

Any Idea if purchasing a new entry level sound card would help? Since I've been hearing that these Realtek onboard cards are really troublesome with regards to ASIO devices I'm actually contemplating a change in sound card to curb all this nonsense I'm getting with this current onboard card.

There are heaps of relatively inexpensive USB audio interfaces around that use ASIO drivers, and almost any one of them would be superior to your Realtek for home recording purposes - those onboard sound devices are simply not designed for that purpose.

You could then leave the Realtek in place, but effectively bypass it by selecting the new USB interface as your audio device through the Windows 'Sound' menu.

Hey Dougiwe,

I always recommend a dedicated audio interface whenever you're using an audio app such as Ableton Live. That way, you'll have less issues.
